When a family member or a loved one is diagnosed with a chronic disease, the ramifications for carers are significant and often complex.
If you care for someone with a chronic disease, you may experience stress, grief and social isoloation. You may feel overwhelmed by the tasks involved in meeting your loved one's needs.
Specialised counselling for carers and family members
Free counselling is available
As an external provider for Carers Victoria's National Carer Counselling Program (NCCP) you may be entitled to receive a number of sessions free of charge - see counselling for carers.
Additionally, as a registered psychologist, i am also able to offer Medicare rebates for a further 6-10 sessions per year.
